Final preparations for the Corfu Food and Wine Festival

CORFU. The Organizing Committee for the Corfu Food and Wine Festival, 9 – 13 May, met on Saturday 24th March.

The Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Vassilis Kavadias, chaired the meeting and each of the teams involved gave a progress report along with their aims for the remaining preparation time, with special emphasis being put on publicity.

It was decided to hold two press conferences:

The first of these will be with the Corfu media on Friday 30th March at 11am in the Regional Union’s conference room (Samara 13).

The second will be held with national and international media in Athens on 17th April. The following have been invited to attend - representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and the National Tourist Organization (EOT), the two Corfu MPs and high profile Corfiots active in Athens, mainly in the field of culture.

The following organizations were represented at Saturday’s meeting:

Corfu Municipality, Hoteliers Association, Corfu Chefs Club, Union of Certified Tour Guides for the Ionian Islands and Western Greece, The Association of Restauranteurs and Related Professions, fedHATTA and Corfu Pastry Professionals Association.
