CORFU. Landslips, fallen power cables and poles from the stormy weather, damaged and cracked road surfaces – Pelekas is crying out for help!
The village is famous for its view – especially in the summer at sunset. Since the 19th century it has often been mentioned by travellers and such dignitaries as Empress Elizabeth of Austria, Kaiser William II and King George I enjoyed the magnificent view.
However, damage to the roads – especially during the winter – along with the continuous neglect of local authorities and lack of funds have now ruined this jewel of a village.
