AHEPA donates three defibrillators to Diapontia Islands
CORFU. These three new defibrillators are being added to the three already in place and will be installed at different, key locations.
Three automatic digital defibrillators—one for each of the Diapontia Islands—were donated to the Municipality on Friday, 23 January, by the local chapter of AHEPA Corcyra HJ-34, with the aim of enhancing the sense of safety for both permanent residents and visitors.
The defibrillators were formally handed over to Mayor Stefanos Poulimenos, in the presence of the Deputy Mayors for Health, Christos Skourtis; Mathraki, Spyros Argyrou; and Erikoussa, Anastasios Argyros.
On behalf of the Municipality, the particular importance of the donation was stressed, noting that the protection of human life is a top priority—especially for remote island areas such as the Diapontia Islands, where immediate access is limited.
These three new defibrillators are being added to the three already in place on the Diapontia Islands and will be installed at different, key locations, so that no valuable time is lost in the event of a sudden health emergency.
