Road closure in Moraitika will remain in effect until Wednesday evening
CORFU. New police update following the landslides and the ongoing recovery work.
From Monday, 8 December at 16:00 until Wednesday, 10 December at 16:00:
(i) Traffic and parking will be closed on the Corfu–Lefkimmi provincial road, from the Marbella Hotel in Agios Ioannis Peristeron up to Moraitika, near the Mira Mare Hotel.
(ii) Cars travelling from Corfu toward Lefkimmi will be diverted through Vryoni, Ponti, Agioi Deka, Strongyli, and Messonghi. The same route in reverse will apply for vehicles heading from Lefkimmi toward Corfu.
(iii) Vehicles up to 10 tons, travelling in either direction between Corfu and Lefkimmi, will be diverted exclusively through Messonghi, Agios Matthaios, Vouniatades, Agioi Theodoroi, Kastellanoi, Milia, and Vryoni.
(iv) The municipal road of Agios Ioannis (near the Marbella Hotel) will become one-way toward Strongyli and will remain open only to cars.
(v) Lorries over 10 tons will not be allowed to pass from the Benitses municipal parking area up to the Messonghi roundabout.
