CORFU. The work includes roof repairs, replacement of gutters, and reinforcement of areas that showed damage, so that the schools can operate in complete safety for pupils, teachers, and support staff.

(North Corfu Municipality) With speed, coordination, and a strong sense of responsibility, the Municipality of North Corfu responded immediately to the recent severe weather, launching targeted repair works on school buildings—starting with the Nymfes Kindergarten and Kassiopi Primary School.

The works include roof repairs, replacement of gutters, and reinforcement of damaged areas to ensure that schools operate safely for pupils, teachers, and support staff.

The Municipal Technical Services team, under the supervision of Deputy Mayor for Technical Services Hariton Koutsouris, remains active on the ground every day, prioritising work on school facilities and critical infrastructure wherever needed.

During an on-site inspection on Tuesday, November 11, at the Amphipagiton (Peroulades) Junior High School and the Avliotes Primary School, Mayor of North Corfu Giorgos Mahimaris—accompanied by the President of the Municipal Council and head of education, Panayiotis Papadatos—stated:

“The Municipality of North Corfu remains on constant alert. The protection of our children, teachers, and school facilities is an absolute priority. We acted immediately to ensure safety and dignity for the school community. Repair works continue with consistency, speed, and a clear plan wherever needed.”
