On the occasion of International Museum Day 2025, the Corfu Art Gallery is organising the following events for the public:

To mark one hundred years since the death of the important Corfu painter Georgios Samartzis (1868–1925), the Corfu Art Gallery is honouring and showcasing his work. In collaboration with the Museum Studies Laboratory of the Ionian University, it is hosting an educational event titled:
“Georgios Samartzis... 100 Years Later.”
This event is aimed at an adult audience and focuses on visual arts themes and social transformations.
It will be conducted by museologist Panayiotis Sarantidis.

Guided Tour of the "Penelope Volterra Sculpture Hall"
Monday May 19
Time: 19:30
Visual artist Penelope Volterra will guide us through the Sculpture Hall of the Corfu Art Gallery, which is dedicated to her work.
The tour will highlight her multi-dimensional installation titled “Temple,” approached through a philosophical lens.
Collector Michail-Angelos Vradis will also offer insights during the event.
