CORFU. The museum had closed in order to undergo extensive maintenance.

The Palaiopolis Museum reopened on Saturday, August 30. It had closed in order to undergo extensive maintenance. Although the maintenance work had been completed, a fault in the DEI substations located within the Palaiopolis site — which occurred during the reconstruction works of the ‘Rena Vlachopoulou’ theatre — did not allow the museum to reopen, even though the restoration had been finished some time earlier.

Even the events for King Charles’ birthday, organised by the British Embassy, had to be supplied with emergency electricity.

However, as time passed, power supply was fully restored, something that was demonstrated both at the informal premiere of the theatre with the play ‘He and He’ and at the official premiere with the play ‘Curtain Rises Again’, which confirmed that the problem had been definitively resolved.

Thus, the Museum of Palaiopolis has reopened and is now awaiting its visitors.
