CORFU. The exhibition will be opened by the President (Speaker) of Parliament, Nikos Voutsis, and the Government will be represented by the Minister of Education, Kostas Gavroglou.
The Greek Parliament Library, the Municipality of Corfu and the Corfu Municipality Art Gallery are organizing the exhibition 'Ioannis Capodistrias, the Corfiot First Governor of Greece'.
The exhibition of the life and work of the great Greek politician and diplomat opens on Monday 21st May at 17:30 in the Permanent Exhibition section of the Municipal Art Gallery. The opening ceremony will be conducted by the President (Speaker) of Parliament, Nikos Voutsis, and the Government will be represented by the Minister of Education, Kostas Gavroglou.
There will be digital reproductions of documents, publications, newspapers, heirlooms and works of art which have been given by various organizations such as the Greek Parliament Library, the Russian Foreign Ministry, the State Archives, the National History Museum and the Benaki Museum.
The exhibition runs until Sunday 30th December and aims to give the public the opportunity to learn more about the charismatic Ioannis Capodistrias and to show the influence of his work on modern-day society.
