CORFU. The President of the Greek Supreme Court, Vassilios Peppas, visited the Capodistrias Museum on Monday morning.

The President of the Greek Supreme Court, Vassilios Peppas, visited the Capodistrias Museum on Monday 5th February accompanied by the newly-elected President of the Corfu Lawyers’ Association, Georgios Kaloudis and board members Elias Plaskasovitis and Spyros Vartholomaios.

The President, who had been invited to Corfu by the Corfu Lawyers’ Association, was briefed about the Museum and its collection by the Secretary of the Reading Society, Dimitris Zimaris. He was taken round the whole museum and expressed great interest in all the exhibits and satisfaction with operation of the museum.

“I was deeply moved by my visit to the Ioannis Capodistrias Museum today. This was the person who, from its infancy, founded the modern Greek State and created hope for the rebirth of Hellenism. His assassination deprived us of a brilliant personality. I hope that we learn from history to avoid repeating these disastrous mistakes. I congratulate those who worked to set up this museum as well as those who are working to maintain it so that everyone who visits can gain historical knowledge and learn important lessons.

Vassilios Peppas
President, Supreme Court”
