CORFU. The Inspectorate for Antiquities sent a notice today calling for an immediate halt to work being carried out in the church of Ag. Spyridonos.
The incident was the cause of some concern to nearby residents, but it transpires that the church is doing the work without having received the necessary permission.
The church still has another outstanding matter with the Inspectorate for Antiquities – a month ago they were asked to remove a new throne and two marble shrines.
