CORFU. He will be taking part in the conference ΄Sustainable Blue Economy΄ 26 - 28 November.

The Mayor of Corfu Kostas Nikolouzos is in Nairobi to take part in the conference 'Sustainable Blue Economy' which is taking place from 26 to 28 November.

The conference is being organized by the Government of Kenya in collaboration with the Governments of Canada and Japan.

It is the first international conference on Sustainable Blue Economy and over 4,000 delegates from developed and developing countries around the world will be attending.

The Greek delegation consists of:

- The Deputy Minister for Economy and Development, Efstathios Yiannakidis
- The General Secretary for International Economic Relations at the Foreign Ministry, Ioannis Brahos
- The General Secretary at the Marine Ministry, Dionysis Temponeras
- The Mayor of Corfu, Kostas Nikolouzos
- The Deputy Mayor of Thessaloniki, Nikolaos Makris
- The President of Alexandroupolis Port Authority, Christos Doukas
- The President of the Hellenic-Kenyan Chamber of Commerce, Manufacturing, Development, Tourism and Culture, Vassilis Katsikeas

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development greatly depends on the strength of our blue economy.The blue economy relates to the sustainable use and conservation of aquatic resources including seas, lakes, rivers and oceans. Historically, the blue economy has been recognized as the driving force for development and prosperity in industrial nations.
