International success for Corfu Croquet Club

The Corfu Croquet Club has triumphed at the highest level of European competition. Representing Greece on 4–5 July, the Corfiot team overcame one Spanish and two British teams in the qualifying round held at its Gouvia Marina facilities.

After two days of thrilling competition, Corfu emerged victorious and secured qualification for next year’s European Championship.

According to the club’s press release, this success could open the door to even bigger events:

“It is highly likely that we will be invited to host a round of the European Championship at our club, as many teams from across Europe are looking forward to coming here and competing on our lawns.”
