Catholic Church: Multi-denominational event

The event is part of the week of thought and prayer that the Catholic Church is organizing throughout the world to raise Christians’ awareness of the importance of unity – something that Jesus Christ prayed for and told his disciples that he wanted for his church.

The Choir from the Music Department at the Ionian University will take part in the event with Miranda Kaldi conducting. They will perform the following works:

1. Magnificat - Arvo Part    Soloist: Katerina Dimopoulou
2. God be in my Head – Raymond Weidner               Soloist: Aliki Siousti
3. Ave Maria – Giulio Caccini            Soloist: Nikoletta Nikolaidou
4. Miserere – Grigorio Allegri           Soloists: Ira Zervopoulou, Nikoletta Nikolaidou / Orthodox Hymns: Iraklis Panagopoulos, Dimitris Dimitriou

On Sunday 28^th January at 10:30am, there will be a service at the Catholic Metropolitan Church praying especially for the unity of Christians and peace in the world. Chanting will be by the Catholic Choir.
