CORFU. The Greek Red Cross provides food for thousands of people throughout the country – mostly those with no income, senior citizens, the unemployed, single parents, large families and the disabled.

The Corfu branch is once again supporting tens of people on the island this Christmas with food and basic necessities through its Social Services programme.

The President of the Corfu branch of the Greek Red Cross, Maria Dimoula, along with the board, would like to express their deepest gratitude to the following: Corfu Rotary Club for its donation of 100 food packages; Corfu Hunting Society, the 1st and 2nd Primary Schools, Alepou Primary School, Viros Primary School and Lakones Nursery School for their donations of food; Children’s World nursery centre for the donation of the proceeds from their Bazaar; the supermarkets AB Vassilopoulos, Markato and Lidl, who allowed our volunteers space to collect food donations.

Most of all, however, we would to give warm thanks to the people of Corfu for their continuing practical support for our work – they filled our baskets with food and bought the handmade sweets at our annual bazaar.

We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year.
