CORFU. Meeting with Ambulance Service on CPR and defibrillator training and certification for teachers.
As part of efforts to strengthen the safety and preparedness of the school community in first aid, a working meeting was held with representatives of the Corfu branch of the Ambulance Service (EKAB).
EKAB instructors Mr Bandas and Mr Kypriotis met with the teaching staff of Corfu’s 3rd and 4th Junior High Schools. The meeting focused on planning and preparing for the training and certification of teaching staff at the two schools in the use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) available on the school premises, as well as in performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), including chest compressions and rescue breaths.
Training in the use of AEDs and CPR is provided through certified seminars lasting between four and six hours, organised by bodies such as the Hellenic Red Cross, EKAB and other approved organisations, helping to ensure that staff can respond promptly and effectively in emergency situations.
