Corfu Port Authority forum on cruises
CORFU. It seems like a response to the critical remarks, both official and unofficial, regarding the burden of cruises and their impact on the local economy. Its endorsement under the auspices of the Ministry of Island Policy is credited to the Corfiot Deputy Minister, Stefanos Gikas.
The forum will begin on the morning of Wednesday, February 19, at the Corfu Port Authority main building. Its central theme is "Corfu Port: A Gateway for Development in the Local Society and Economy. The Contribution of Cruises."
At the forum, Professor Dimitriou from Demokritus University will present a related study. Additionally, three separate sessions will take place, focusing on emerging opportunities and future prospects for tourism and the local economy. The discussions will explore how to create added value for the local economy, society, and tourism, as well as ways to boost employment, develop trade, enhance hospitality and services, and examine the contribution of cruises to economic growth.
The forum is being held under the auspices of the Ministry of Shipping & Island Policy.
