Contract for redevelopment of ΄Tsaki-Moraitika΄ coastal front signed
CORFU. On Thursday, December 5, the call for a tender worth €5,800,000 (including VAT) for work along the Vrioni-Lefkimmi road axis was also signed.
On Friday morning, December 6, Regional Governor Yiannis Trepeklis signed off the project for the redevelopment and enhancement of the tourist area from Tsaki Benitses to Moraitika. The Governor stated that this project “will transform the image of the area.” Present at the signing were the representative of the contracting company Kontos Concrete AT and the representative of the development organisation Evdimos, Paraskevi Tatouli.
The Governor acknowledged the previous regional administration, which had included the project in a funding programme, and added that the new administration has proceeded with the tender process after making some improvements to the study in collaboration with Evdimos AEOTA, which also helped secure timely funding to ensure the project could proceed.

Concluding, Yiannis Trepeklis stated:
“We know that South Corfu has been neglected in terms of infrastructure, particularly the road network. It is time to address the needs of a systematically underserved area.
These two projects will complement each other and present a new image for the region."
