Public Real Estate Company to fund restoration of Achilleion Palace
ATHENS. The announcement was made by the Deputy Minister of Shipping, Stefanos Gikas, who participated in the Government Committee on Strategic Significance Contracts.
(Office of the Prime Minister) The following projects are included in the "Strategic Significance Contracts Development Program" and will be implemented by the TAIPED Strategic Significance Contracts Unit:

The restoration and enhancement of the Achilleion complex, with a new total budget of €13,640,000 (including VAT). For this major project, it was decided that the Public Real Estate Company will cover the entire budget with its own resources. The project includes the completion of the remaining work from the previous contract, involving the completion of architectural, structural and electromechanical works on the Palace, Barracks, Gatehouse buildings and the Courtyard, as well as the upgrade of the Medium Voltage Substation.

The construction of Pessada Port in Cephalonia, with a budget of €4,500,000.

The improvement of port infrastructure at Frikes Port in Ithaca, with a budget of €2,000,000.

Dredging works at Zakynthos Port, with a budget of €2,000,000.
