Homeless man found dead a few metres from OAED, where he had been sleeping!
CORFU. A complaint posted on social media (where the photo also comes from) is causing a stir, stating that authorities had been repeatedly called, but nothing happened.
A homeless man, who usually slept outside the closed kiosk in the square opposite OAED, was found dead. The man was identified as G.K., 65 years old. A passerby saw his body slumped among the trash and notified the authorities. Initial reports from journalists stated that he was already dead.
However, according to the Deputy Mayor of Welfare, Christos Skourtis, when they were alerted they rushed to the scene and initially encountered resistance from the man, who did not want to get into the ambulance. After contacting the Prosecutor's office and with the intervention of a social worker and nurses, he was examined on-site (as much as possible in such circumstances).
