Elpifos Gallery in Arillas is hosting an exhibition "Pair of Colors" by Elli Kapnisi from 26 September to 1 October, 2024.
The dynamics of colour, forms, the energy of association, coupling, I relate to it, like myself and a good friend or a beloved partner. The love of colours!
Through my exploration and the mixing of colors I look for themes that touch the dream, the unconscious, the depth of our soul, the bottom that exists in everyone, the abyss. Our relationship with ourselves and our relationship with others, a mirage!
The dual element, unity becomes dyad, one becomes two, how one colour changes next to another. Accordingly, in real life, how much we are influenced by our neighbour, our mirrors, the observer and the observed, mating. Geometric shapes that contain sacred and unholy geometry, like light and darkness within us, elements that are unrelated at first glance but end up in a composition.
The mix of colours that highlight or confuse each other, just as in our life every encounter highlights our gifts or limits us, diminishes us. We individually, we together, light and darkness exist within us, in our relationships, in the way we live. The couples we seek, the soul mates who will complete us, while we are already perfect in our imperfection.
