CORFU. Saturday, August 10 at 22:00, directed by Natalia Capodistria.

Varkarola will take place this year in Faliraki, not in Garitsa bay. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 10 at 10:00 p.m., and will be directed by Natalia Capodistria. The participants include 'Kerkyraiki Kantada and Mandolinata', the "Faiakon Choir", 'Musical Roots' Traditional Choir and 'Saint Spyridon' Children's - Youth Choir.

The Deputy Mayor of Culture, Kostas Vousolinos, stated that with a contemporary perspective, the August miracle of the end of the Siege in 1716 is a balance between a live musical improvisation and a parallel bilingual narration of the chronicle of the island's siege. The event is complemented by an "on-board" traditional, maritime perantzada (stroll) of choirs with Ionian melodies and rhythms, under the sound of waves, while fireworks will decorate the starry sky!

Varkarola 2024 is being co-organised by the Union of Ionian Islands Municipalities and the Corfu Culture and Sports Organisation (OKE), with the collaboration of the Scouts, the "Kontra Fossa" Amateur Fishermen's Association, NAOK, the Panhellenic Offshore Sailing Club and with the valuable support of the Corfu Police Department - Traffic Division, the Central Port Authority, the Fire Department, and the Ambulance Service (EKAB).
