All Corfu microbiological laboratories to open again on Tuesday
CORFU. The laboratory doctors will reconsider their position after the European elections.
Individuals insured with EOPYY will be able once again to go for tests from tomorrow, Tuesday, the President of the Medical Association, Dimitris Kaloudis, told Enimerosi.
The laboratory doctors decided in their nationwide teleconference on Saturday (25/05) to temporarily suspend their protests. In their decision, they took into account the adjournment of Parliament due to the European Elections on June 9th, which prevents the legislation of the commitments made by the Ministry of Health for initiating new collective contracts and partial relief measures for the sector.
However, the laboratory doctors remain on alert in case the commitments are not fulfilled by mid-June, at which point they will meet again to plan their response.
Their abstention from duties began on May 8th, with the main issue being the significant cuts to their fees by the country's main social security provider.
