Ionian University staff to acquire digital cards
CORFU. The digital business card is a physical card that allows the user to share professional information by placing the card on a smartphone or by scanning a QR code.
The Rector's Council, guided by the Ionian University's commitment to create new digital services for the benefit of the academic community, decided to acquire digital business cards for all teaching staff and most of the administrative staff.
The decision to adopt digital business cards is in line with the Digital Transformation requirements and the University's set of core values of quality, extroversion, sustainability and viability, marking a new era of networking and professionalism for the teaching and administrative staff and demonstrating an innovative and competitive attitude in a dynamically changing digital environment with major challenges.
The digital business card is a physical card that allows the user to share professional information by placing the card on a smartphone or by scanning a QR code. With the help of contactless NFC technology (similar to that of credit cards), one can share their details such as phone number, email, address, social media, etc. with a simple tap on the mobile phone. Just by bringing the card to the other person's mobile phone they can automatically transfer the information concerning oneself and the Ionian University to the other person's device. It works on all types of smartphones without an app. Changes of personal information can be made at any time from each user's digital profile.
