Two taken to hospital following Ipsos house fire
CORFU. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire which broke out this morning.
A 65-year-old burn victim has been transferred to Corfu Hospital following the fire that broke out earlier this morning in a house in Ipsos.
According to initial information, the Fire Department found an elderly person with mobility issues inside the house who suffered burns from the flames. According to the ambulance service (EKAB), he is in critical condition and another person was also taken to hospital with respiratory problems.
The fire was noticed by employees of a pastry shop located right below the house where the fire occurred, on the Ipsos waterfront.
The Fire Department rushed to the scene with three vehicles and seven firefighters and were able to extinguish the fire.
