CORFU. According to eye witnesses, a car that was travelling at speed on Roda-Acharavi road hit a couple of Corfiots returning from the local fair.
A tragic road accident occurred yesterday night resulting in the death of two Corfiots, aged 80 and 81. According to eye witnesses, a car driven by a 31-year-old Greek was travelling at speed on Roda-Acharavi road and hit a couple of Corfiots returning from the local fair. The collision happened with great force, resulting in them suffering fatal injuries.
North Corfu Police are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
The driver was arrested and will be taken to appear before the Corfu Prosecutor.
