CORFU. The Corfu Garden Festival started as a one-day event and has evolved into a week full of events, giving access to gardens throughout the island!
You are invited to visit the springtime garden of the Capodistrias Museum in Koukouritsa, Europouli, to enjoy its botanical and historic character, as well as its magnificent view.
The Corfu Garden Festival started as a one-day event and has evolved into a week full of events, giving access to gardens throughout the island! The Capodistrias Museum is a regular participant in this event and is housed in the historic agricultural estate of Capodistrias in Koukouritsa, in the village of Europouli. Koukouritsa has been declared a Historical Conservation Site by the Ministry of Culture, as a characteristic example of the Ionian urban architecture of the countryside and natural beauty. In the museum's garden, visitors can follow the outdoor path, where via signage (QR) they can discover stories of the estate, information on its use over the centuries, and elements of its vegetation.
The guided tours are open to the public and no registration is required. Times: 12:00 (in Greek) and 14:00 (in English). Tour duration: 1 hour.
The Capodistrias Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 16:00.
Entry to the Garden and the Museum's Café is free.
For entry to the permanent exhibition on Ioannis Capodistrias, there is an admission charge.
How to get there:
The Capodistrias Museum - Centre for Capodistrian Studies is located 10 km from Corfu Town, in Koukouritsa, Euroupouli.
By car: On Eth.Paleokastritsas Rd., turn at the traffic lights towards the entrance of the hospital and follow the signs to the village of Euroupouli - Capodistrias Museum.
By bus: No. 4 bus from San Rocco Square, getting off at "Koukouritsa" stop.
