Two lorryloads of humanitarian aid for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria

CORFU. Central Corfu Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Andreas Skoupouras coordinated the collection of clothing, foodstuffs and healthcare items.
Central Corfu Municipality sent another two lorryloads of clothing, foodstuffs and healthcare items to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, coordinated by Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Andreas Skoupouras.
Hundreds of members of the public contributed whatever they could..and more...to help those who, in a matter of a few minutes, lost everything they had. The two lorries are now on their way to their destination.
In a statement, Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Mayor Meropi Ydraiou said: "I am proud of our citizens, who responded to this effort by donating whatever they could. The municipality of humanity and solidarity is built by all of us. Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipality is demonstrating its fellow feeling in a practical way and the citizens of the municipality are the leading players in this effort."
