300kg clothing for prison inmates from North Corfu Municipality

CORFU. The clothing was handed over by the Deputy Mayor for Circular Economy, Environment, Social Policy and Public Relations Spyridoula Kokkali and Civil Protection Supervisor Giorgos Mavropoulos.
North Corfu Municipality donated 300kg of clothing to Corfu Prison Director Efthymia Stavrou yesterday to cover the basic needs of inmates for clothing and footwear.
The clothing comes from the reuse and recycling programme that has been in operation at the North Corfu Green Spots since 2020.
The clothing was handed over by the Deputy Mayor for Circular Economy, Environment, Social Policy and Public Relations Spyridoula Kokkali and Civil Protection Supervisor Giorgos Mavropoulos.
North Corfu Municipality continues to collect clothing and footwear at the Green Spots in Acharavi and Kassiopi as well as at the special bins in the Town Hall Square and Agros KEP. After the clothing has been sorted, cleaned and disinfected it is distributed free to residents and families as well as any organisations where it is needed - anything unsuitable is sent for recycling.
