CORFU. The Business Park Development Company (EANEP) signed the contract with a company to prepare the file to be submitted to the Ministry of Development.

The business park, which will house important business activities, such as wholesale, logistics, supply chain and more, will be funded by the Recovery Fund. Thus, a service contract was signed today for the preparation of a file to be submitted to the Ministry of Development.

As the Deputy Regional Governor for Environment Spyros Ioannou explained, the deadline for the expression of interest for potential properties expired on December 13 and now the three plots are being evaluated.

The EANEP managing director Kostas Kitsakis pointed out that the creation of the business park is something the merchants and craftsmen had been asking for more than 15 years. The contract was signed with the Athens-based company 'Netrino' and the deadline for submitting the proposal is February 20. "The Board thought it was necessary to hire a technical consultant due to their technical knowledge and competence in order to assist us in this very difficult project. The latter is in the final stage of being submitted for funding."

According to the company's representative Stefanos Komninos, within a month the business plan will be updated and submitted to the Ministry for funding from the Recovery Fund. He pointed out that "this is positive, because through the Recovery Fund the possibility of funding up to 50% of the creation of such infrastructure in Greece is given. Given the political will of the Region, the bodies, the Chamber, the Federation of Manufacturing & Trading Professionals (OEBEK) and the society in general, this long-awaited project will finally be implemented, helping Corfu businesses.

It will be a place suitable for businesses that have to relocate due to their operating licences and for important business activities. The park will be of low and medium disturbance and will give a boost to businesses, allowing Corfu's tourism industry to operate smoothly and even helping the cruise industry to create appropriate conditions for a home port".
