Two attempted suicides saved this morning

CORFU. The police, ambulance and Fire Department were able to prevent the suicides.
Two unconnected people attempted to kill themselves this morning at approximately the same time and not far from each other.
In the first case the police were informed that an 80-year-old man had told someone close to him that he was going to jump into the Kontra Fossa at the Old Fortress.
In the second case a woman, approximately 40 years of age, was standing on a wall next to Garitsa Bay ready to jump in when a passerby saw her. The woman suffered only minor injuries to her arms and was taken to hospital.
The police are conducting investigations into both incidents.
