CORFU. Corfu Ambulance Service (EKAB) Employees Union is asking for support from MPs so that the ambulance doesn΄t leave the island.
The 7th Regional EKAB (Ambulance Service) picked up an ambulance from the airport today, 19 October, which has been donated by the Civil Aviation Authority.
However, Corfu Ambulance Service (EKAB) Employees Union has not yet received an answer from the 7th Regional EKAB administration as to whether the ambulance will be added to the island's fleet.
"This raises serious questions as to the future of the ambulance and where it will end up," says the union.
"Corfu Ambulance Service (EKAB) Employees Union has repeatedly reported the serious problem the island has regarding ambulances and we request that the ambulance which has been at Corfu Airport for years remain on the island to meet the serious needs of the local service.
"We request the support of the local MPs and the local authority so that the ambulance doesn΄t leave the island."
