The Corfu Music School Symphony Orchestra pupils had a unique experience and were applauded for their participation in the opening of the 5th International Creative Writing Conference held in Palermo, Italy. The children travelled to Palermo on the initiative of the Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipality, received an enthusiastic welcome and came into contact with pupils of the Music School there, broadening their musical horizons and seeing how the other pupils operate and train.

The Symphonic Orchestra of the Corfu Music School with the participation of musicians of the Corfu Conservatory presented Greek songs and music. Ioanna Vlachou was the singer accompanied on the piano by Spyros Kontzialis, while Kimon Chytiris was the conductor.

It is worth noting that the conference was co-organised by the Central Corfu Municipality and the Postgraduate Programme "Creative Writing" of the University of Thessaloniki, the Postgraduate Programme "Rhetoric, Human Sciences and Education" of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the University of Western Macedonia and the Università degli Studi di Palermo.
