Official opening of Corfu Elderly Day Care Centre with Deputy Minister for Social Welfare

CORFU. The Deputy Minister for Social Welfare Domna Michailidou along with the Central Corfu Mayor Meropi Ydraiou cut the ribbon today to officially open the Elderly Day Care Centre, which recently started operating in Alykes, Potamos.
The official opening ceremony took place with the traditional blessing. Also present at the ceremony were the President of Corfu Social Protection & Solidarity Maria Zervou, members of the Municipal Authority, the Deputy Regional Governor for Public Health Melita Andrioti, the Deputy Regional Governor for Corfu Kostas Zorbas, the Corfu ND MP Stefanos Gikas and the Corfu Fire Chief Nikos Kolovos.
What is the Elderly Day Care Centre
The Elderly Day Care Centre will provide care to beneficiaries who can stay there during the day and enjoy everything that is being provided. The infrastructure has already been completed, the necessary nursing, auxiliary and administrative staff have been recruited and the centre is ready to start officially operating. The Elderly Day Care Centre is located in Alykes, Potamos, and is staffed by nurses, caregivers, cleaners and a driver.
What is being provided
Τhe Centre will be open from 7:30 to 15:30 and will provide the following:
-Transportation to the centre, where people can stay for as long as they want until it closes
-Primary health care
-Personal hygiene
-Food
-Creative activities and entertainment
-Resting areas
