Fourth body recovered from Euroferry Olympia

ASTAKOS. A fourth body has been recovered by the search and rescue team (EMAK) from the third garage of the ferry boat.
A fourth body has been recovered by the search and rescue team (EMAK) from the third garage of the Euroferry Olympia, which was towed to Astakos Port. Seven persons are still missing. There have now been four deaths and there are 281 survivors.
The Special Disaster Response Unit (EMAK) is continuing its search and the ramp will be lowered once the carbon dioxide levels inside the vessel have dropped and there is no danger of the fire rekindling.
Fire broke out on the 3rd level of the Euroferry Olympia early on Friday 18 February northeast of Erikoussa when it was sailing from Igoumenitsa to Brindisi. It was towed to Astakos Port yesterday, Wednesday 23rd.
