CORFU. The vet examining the creature talks to Enimerosi.
Another beaked whale was washed ashore at Ai Gordis on Monday morning.
According to local residents, the creature was spotted early in the morning by the same person who first saw yesterday's whale at a spot about 500m further along where the main road meets the beach.
The volunteer rescuers say it is another whale, larger than yesterday's and with differences in its fins.
The vet from Arion Research Centre for the Rescue and Care of Cetaceans also says it is, in all probability, a different creature.
On Sunday, two beaked whales were washed ashore at around the same time in Ai Gordis and Arillas. According to an official announcement from the Maritime Ministry, they were rescued and returned to their natural environment.
It is a matter of great concern and the reason that these creatures are being washed ashore is being looked into by experts.
A team of volunteers is at the spot at the moment (11:00) and Paleokastritsa Port Authority has been informed and is also sending a team.
