Angry Stavros residents without water for five days

Stavros
03 Feb 2022 / 12:56

CORFU. A DIADEYAK crew is trying to locate the source of the problem.

Stavros village has been without water for five days, leading to angry protests from the residents. Konstantinos Loukas, a member of Stavros community council, says, "My village has been without water for five days and residents have serious problems. Despite the efforts of DEYAK personnel, a solution still hasn't been found. The everyday lives of village residents have been seriously disrupted."

He sent the following letter to DIADEYAK:

"We our community council visited your office, you promised that you would come to our village to see the problem at first hand and, together find a solution.

You cannot and you do not have the right to expect the village residents to pay huge bills when you, as an organisation, cannot provide us with what should go without saying - proper water supply and quality of service.

Mr. President, I hope that this time you will finally give the problems of our village proper attention and find a permanent, not temporary, solution.

I would also like to let you know that we will take any necessary legal action in order to find a solution to the problem."

DEYAK

DEYAK sources have told Enimerosi that the problem has been found in the Benitses network, in the tank that supplies Stavros. What hasn't been determined yet is the cause of the problem. A DEYAK technical crew is at the location trying to find the cause, inspecting the main pipe, which has probably suffered serious damage.
