Municipality providing heated accommodation in Koulines for homeless in cold weather

CORFU. Available from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 January.

The Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Andreas Skoupouras has announced that according to the Greek Meteorological Service low temperatures are expected over the next few days in the area.

For this reason, heated accommodation will be available at Municipal premises in Koulines on Friday 14, Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 January to provide temporary shelter for the homeless and others in need.

The heated accommodation will be available from 20:00 to 08:00 and is locatedin the municipal building which houses the Civil Protection Department in Koulines.

The premises are in Corfu Town and are easily accessible by bus (nos. 8 and 11 to Koulines bus stop) or on foot.

1. Centre for Daily Care for the Homeless at Solomou 11
 
2. Municipal Community Shop & Kitchen at Mitr. Methodiou & Kolokotroni 3

3. Community Centre in St. Desylla St. next to the Municipal Theatre.

4. KAPI (Public Centre for Senior Citizens) at Akadimias 3.

Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality is collaborating with volunteers from the Corfu branch of the Hellenic Red Cross to provide space with heating if there are low temperatures.
