CORFU. Statement from Corfu Federation of Tourist Accommodation Owners (OETK).

The Corfu Federation of Tourist Accommodation Owners (OETK) made the following statement:

As you know, the deadline for the classification of existing businesses of non-main tourist accommodation establishments in Key Ratings, following many efforts by our Federation, has been extended for another year.

Specifically, the new law stipulates that, if the classification certificate of the abovementioned accommodation establishments is issued from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022, it will be valid for five years and if the certificate is issued from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023, it will be valid for three years.

For accommodation establishments that on the date of publication of this law have been classified in accordance with the applicable provisions, the classification certificate shall be valid for three more years from its expiration date on 31 May 2022.

After this period, the establishment shall be sealed by decision of the Head of the Ministry of Tourism's Regional Tourism Service until the submission of a classification certificate or a notification of operation of an accommodation establishment without a Key Rating by the management body in accordance with the applicable provisions.

It is worth noting that the furnished rooms and apartments to rent that choose not to be classified in a Key Rating system, are obliged to comply with the provisions of the decision No. 12868 / Government Gazette No. 3119 / 31-07-2019 and the mandatory specifications of the Annex to that Decision for the 1-Key accommodation establishments and to submit a notification with the amendment of the Key Rating category.

For further information regarding the certification and in order for all the necessary actions to be taken in time, you can call our Federation at 2661026133 or 2661023403 daily, from 9am to 2pm.
