High viral load in Corfu and Ioannina wastewater

ATHENS. In the week 20-26 December, there was a significant increase in the average weekly viral load in urban wastewater in Corfu Town (+191%) compared to the previous week.
Corfu and Ioannina have the highest weekly increase in the viral load of urban wastewater.
According to the latest update on Tuesday 28 December, there has been an increase in the viral load in urban wastewater in Corfu (+191%), Ioannina (+233%), Heraklion (+35%), Attica (+100%), Thessaloniki (+14%) and Chania (+26%).
There has been a decrease in the viral load in urban wastewater in Alexandroupolis (-34%), Volos (-14%), Xanthi (-18%), Larissa (-21%) and Rethymnon (-26%). The level has remained approximately the same in Patras (+1%).
