CORFU. Police checks on adherence to non-smoking law.
Police have been carrying out checks in the Ionian Islands to ensure that non-smoking laws are being adhered to.
On Sunday 19 December, there were 13 violations in the 182 premises checked by police in Corfu, Zakynthos, Lefkada and Cephalonia.
5 in Corfu - 3 catering establishment owners were fined €500 each and 2 customers were fined €100 each.
5 in Lefkada - 3 owners of catering establishments and betting shops were fined €500 each and 2 customers were fined €100 each.
3 in Zakynthos - 2 owners of catering establishments and betting shops were fined €500 each and 1 customer was fined €100.
