Corfu in subsidised retraining programme for the unemployed in tourism sector

CORFU. According to the decision signed by the Deputy Minister of Tourism Sophia Zaharaki.
The Central, North and South Corfu Municipalities are among the 18 regions of Greece where 1,250 workers and temporarily unemployed in the tourism sector will have the opportunity to participate in a subsidised training programme, following a decision signed yesterday by the Deputy Minister of Tourism Sophia Zaharaki.
Corfu ND MP Stefanos Gikas stated the following:
“1,250 employees and temporarily unemployed in the tourism sector in 18 regions of Greece will have the opportunity to participate in a subsidised retraining programme, following a decision signed yesterday by the Deputy Minister of Tourism Sophia Zaharaki.
These regions include the North, Central and South Corfu Municipalities and, for this reason, I would like to thank Mrs. Sophia Zaharaki for implementing a commitment that we had announced during her visit to Corfu this summer.
The applications for the programme have already started and concern 50 retraining courses that the Ministry of Tourism will operate in Athens, Thessaloniki, Nea Moudania Halkidiki, Trikala, Central, North and South Corfu, Volos, Delphi, Agios Nikolaos, Heraklion, Hermione, Kalamata, Loutraki, Nafplio, Patras, Pyrgos, Rhodes.
Positions
The positions offered concern the following:
a) Reception Service,
b) Catering,
c) Culinary Arts,
d) Confectionery, and
e) Housekeeping
Applications must be submitted online in a special app at mintour.edu.gr until 23/12/2021.
The attendance of the programmes, with a total duration of 380 hours, is provided free of charge, is compulsory for the whole educational programme and includes a theoretical, as well as a laboratory part. Throughout the duration of the programme, the trainees are entitled to a training allowance, which is determined and paid by OAED.
These retraining programmes are aimed at the employees and temporarily unemployed in the tourism sector, who do not have a diploma in tourism. The aim of these programmes is the continuous training of the people working in the tourism sector.”
