Collaboration between Ionian University and Red Cross

CORFU. The collaboration will be in teaching, research and practical exercises in areas of common interest.
A memorandum of scientific cooperation was signed by the Dean of the Ionian University, Andreas Floros, Sotiris Livas representing the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting and the Hellenic Red Cross in teaching, research and practical exercises in areas of common interest.
The memorandum of cooperation includes mutual support in talks, lessons, seminars, webinars and other educational activities with translation services for manuals, books, articles, announcements as well as interpretation services. It also involves joint research activities, the results of which will be used together, writing books and production of educational materials, exchange of expertise and the organisation of seminars, conferences and other events.
As part of the collaboration, the Red Cross First Aid Manual has already been translated from the English-language original so that it can be published in Greek. The translation was done by students in the Ionian University Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting.
The following students took part in the translation under the supervision of Professot Keramida: Vana Loverdou, Ioanna Nanou, Marios Roussos, Vassiliki Helidoni (team leader), Antigoni Galanaki, Yesthimani Kafetzi, Nfeli Kapsali, Pinelopi Kolla, Ioanna Brifa, Ino Misirli, Zoe Sakka and Stefania Hatzoglou.
