CORFU. Another 14 beds in Pulmonary Clinic made available for Covid hospitalisations.
The Special Infectious Diseases Unit at Corfu Hospital has now been extended to the Pulmonary wing to meet the increased needs due to Covid cases. The hospital has said that another 14 beds have now been made available with all the necessary equipment.
The Infectious Diseases Unit, which has a capacity of 28, at the moment has 19 Covid patients.
These are mainly elderly patients who haven't been vaccinated. The average number of days spent in hospital has dropped from 12 days to 7-8 due to new medication now available.
