CORFU. The new Heart Attack Unit has 4 beds and medical equipment for patients who need to be hospitalised.
Ten years after the opening of the new Corfu Hospital, a new Heart Attack Unit opened today, Monday 5 April, in the Department of Cardiology.
The new Unit has 4 beds and medical equipment for patients who need to be hospitalised. It will be staffed by hospital personnel who have had special training and will work exclusively there along with the hospital cardiologists.
Hospital Director Leonidas Roubatis made the following statement:
"It is with great pleasure and satisfaction that we can announce that the hospital Heart Attack Unit has opened today after being closed for ten years.
I would like to thank all the medical and nursing staff for their work in making this happen. It goes without saying that the hospital administration will continue to ensure that the Unit is staffed by extra medical and nursing personnel.
At the same time, we continue to work and plan for similar units to be made available to the public as soon as possible."
