CORFU. Reaction from the animal welfare groups Corfu Animal Protection Society (KEPZ) and Corfu Ark following press release.
The press release from Central Corfu Municipality followed an exploratory meeting and was accompanied by a photo with the Deputy Mayor and the animal welfare representatives. It stated explicitly that they had entered into a Cooperation Agreement.
The President of KEPZ Theodoros Tasakos said that the Society had received an invitation to meet with Deputy Mayor Chrysoula Tombrou to discuss possible cooperation in the future with regard to the protection of stray animals.
Mr. Tasakos told Enimerosi that, following the first meeting the Society received a draft agreement for discussion but nothing was signed. He said that the same applied to the Ark representative Christiana Banks and that he has already been in contact with the Municipality about the matter.
