CORFU. Five residents are hospitalised at Corfu Hospital - fortunately, with mild symptoms. Remaining residents and personnel are being tested again.
There has been a sudden outbreak of Covid-19 at a private care home for the elderly. Five elderly residents were taken to Corfu Hospital - fortunately, with mild symptoms.
It began on Friday evening when an elderly woman with symptoms was taken from the care home to the hospital where she was later diagnosed as Covid positive. Another four residents were taken to the hospital on Saturday.
Four of them have been confirmed positive and the other is still under investigation.
At the moment nine patients are hospitalised in the Special Infectious Diseases Unit and one is in the ICU.
