CORFU. The situation in the special unit on the 4th floor of Corfu Hospital is a welcome contrast to the increasing number of new cases in the rest of the country.
There are just six patients in the Special Infectious Diseases Unit and, according to hospital administration sources, it is highly likely that four of these will be discharged by the end of this week.
The 40 - 50 tests carried out at the hospital today, Wednesday, were all negative.
According to the same sources, despite the widespread concern about the AstraZeneca vaccine, people have not been cancelling vaccination appointments. The programme is continuing as normal and is expected to speed up with the second unit that will soon be operating at the hospital.
