Municipality and Ionian University planning joint cultural activities

CORFU. The events will begin with World Music Day on 21 June on the condition that circumstances allow cultural activities to take place.
Deputy Mayor for Culture Chrysoula Tombrou and President of the Ionian University Music Department Anastasia Siopsi had a constructive meeting at San Giacomo Old Town Hall today.
The Deputy Mayor proposed that the Municipality collaborate with the Music Department with a view to enhancing the quality of Municipality events and supporting cultural innovation and creativity.
Ms. Siopsi responded positively to the proposal and both parties agreed that the exhange of expertise and experience will contribute greatly to the promotion of the island's rich musical heritage.
Joint cultural activities are being planned beginning with World Music Day on 21 June on the condition that circumstances allow events to take place at that time.
Ms. Tombrou said, "This new dynamic can rejuvenate our cultural landscape and create a solid foundation to promote our multicultural identity."
