CORFU. The President of the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Workers (POEDHN) Michalis Yiannakos explained to Ethnos newspaper why so few health workers (40%) have said they want to be vaccinated.

Vaccination is planned to begin on Monday 4 January - initially with doctors, nurses and workers at Corfu Hospital.

The Hospital Director explained to Enimerosi that reference hospitals have priority. Vaccines have already been sent to Ioannina and more vaccines are expected to arrive in Greece.

The President of the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Workers (POEDHN) Michalis Yiannakos explained to Ethnos newspaper why so few health workers (40%) have said they want to be vaccinated. "The way the procedure was conducted by the State was wrong. We were sent a form to fill in saying whether or not we want to be vaccinated but had only one day in which to do it. After that the deadline passed. Some people, who had initially said no but after thinking about it changed their minds, were not able to state that they wanted to be vaccinated. There shouldn't be a deadline and all health workers need to be better informed. It should be noted that the 60% who said they didn't want to be vaccinated are not against it but are still cautious."
