€61,800 fine for man who mistreated dogs in Lefkimmi plus charge of animal abuse

CORFU. Charges have been brought against the man for animal abuse.
The shock that was caused by the video of a man flinging two dogs over a fence to get rid of them led to Lefkimmi police taking action and finding the perpetrator as reported in Enimerosi.
Police issued the following press release:
"Following a police investigation the Greek man was found who had been involved in abuse and cruelty towards two dogs owned by him outside the Lefkimmi dog shelter on Monday (14/12) night.
The man was questioned by police and a fine of €61,800 was imposed on him.
Charges have been brought against him for animal abuse which will be passed on to the Corfu Prossecutor."
